Creating Inclusive Music Classrooms and Ensembles

Regular Price $15.00

Description

Facilitated by Vivian Gonzalez, this session will include best practices for inclusion using Universal Design and appropriate behavior strategies. Playing an instrument and building music literacy can be very challenging for students, especially those with disabilities. Building up hand strength through games and learning abstract music theory through hands-on activities is a wonderful way to engage all learners, while providing more opportunity for students with disabilities to succeed. This session will allow teachers to walk away with concrete, fun ways to create lessons using Universal design, build accommodations, and shape behavior appropriately so all students can progress and benefit from high-quality music education.
