Program Director

The purpose of the Program Director role at Butler Community Arts School (BCAS) is to lead the strategic direction and operational excellence of BCAS by overseeing daily operations, fostering community collaborations, and driving innovative arts education programs. Reporting to the Dean of the Jordan College of the Arts and the Executive Director of the Indianapolis Center for Arts Education and Innovation, this role aims to enhance inclusivity, manage resources effectively, and maintain compliance while prioritizing staff development and impactful community engagement within BCAS.​

Responsibilities

·      Administer daily operations, updating policies, procedures, and business structure to support the BCAS’s efficient functioning.Foster inclusive community collaborations and partnerships, emphasizing diversity to enrich BCAS’s network.

·      Recruit, train, and supervise Teaching Fellows, ensuring effective on- and off-campus instruction, and oversee all aspects of BCAS Summer Camps.

·      Research, write, and manage grants in partnership with the Executive Director of the Indianapolis Center for Arts Education and Innovation; actively participate in related meetings and conferences.

·      Demonstrate experience with diverse populations and community-based organizations, integrating these experiences into BCAS’s framework.
Exhibit adeptness at multitasking under pressure, efficiently managing projects, and prioritizing tasks effectively.

·      Lead innovative program development aligned with the BCAS’s mission, integrating emerging trends and technology to enhance arts education.

·      Oversee financial resources, strategize fundraising efforts, and meticulously manage reporting, cultivating fiscal responsibility and fostering donor relationships.

·      Cultivate strong relationships with arts organizations, executing outreach programs for active community engagement in partnership with the Education and Community Program Coordinator.

·      Develop comprehensive training programs for staff, prioritizing their professional growth within a supportive work environment.

·      Implement robust evaluation metrics for program effectiveness and ensure the ongoing relevance of the curriculum. Maintain compliance with regulations, manage risks effectively, and uphold rigorous health and safety standards.
