Douglas Laustsen is an arts administrator and music educator. He is the manager of education and community impact for INTEMPO, a music education and creative youth development nonprofit serving youth from primarily immigrant backgrounds in Stamford, CT. He is driven to create environments where teaching artists can help nurture youth. He has presented on INTEMPO’s work to increase cultural equity in music education at both the 2023 El Sistema USA Symposium and the United Way of Western Connecticut’s 2023 Convening. He currently serves on the finance committee for El Sistema USA.

Originally from New Jersey, he attended Rutgers University and received a bachelor’s degree in music education. He has previously worked for Austin Soundwaves as well as public schools in both New Jersey and Texas. Outside of work, he enjoys trying to keep up with his preschooler and tinkering with his bicycle.
