Dr. Ciyadh Wells is a multifaceted musician who prides herself in not only being an artist but also an activist, and a scholar. As a scholar and educator, Wells believes everyone deserves access to diverse and inclusive art, which she advocates as being essential to society. She recently published her doctoral dissertation, a pedagogical analysis and performance guide to the works for guitar two by Black women composers. Currently, Wells is an active member of the contemporary music and guitar communities. She manages the Margins Guitar Collective, Density512, and the newly formed Marginal Glitch Records. Ciyadh’s mission is to utilize the impact of music old and new, to manifest moments of meaningful change and to inspire community therein. She works in development and fundraising at Austin Soundwaves in Austin, Texas. Ciyadh is a recipient of the Sphinx Organization’s MPower Artist Grant.
