The Afterschool Program Director leads the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra’s Kalamazoo Kids In Tune (KKIT) and Orchestra Rouh afterschool and summer programs. The position is year-round, in-person. The person in this newly designed position will have the opportunity to energetically shape and lead KSO’s innovative afterschool offerings with creativity and vision for the future. KKIT is an El Sistema-inspired afterschool orchestra program offered in partnership with Kalamazoo Publics Schools, designed to increase access and reduce barriers to instrumental music study. Orchestra Rouh is a partnership with the Suzuki Academy of Kalamazoo, bringing together young people from international and local backgrounds through the study of Middle Eastern music.
