Violin/Viola String Teaching Artist: The String Teaching Artist provides high-quality music instruction at our community music school and community partnership program, Victoria’s Dream Project. This is a full-time salaried position Tuesday-Saturday from September-June and Monday-Friday in July and August.

Responsibilities Include:

Teaching:

  • Teach and co-teach group classes in violin and viola at Victoria’s Dream project Tuesday-Thursday throughout the school year
  • Teach 15-18 hours of private and/or group instruction per week at the Music School during CORE and Summer sessions
  • Teach in VDP summer camp and other Music School camps/workshops as needed

Administration and Programming:

  • Collaborate with fellow teaching artists to plan lessons, activities, and events
  • Attend weekly team meetings and additional meetings as needed
  • Oversee instrument inventory for Victoria’s Dream Project
  • Maintain accurate attendance records for Music School activities

Communication:

  • Respond to all work communication within 24 hours on workdays
  • Foster relationships with students and families through consistent communication

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in music (education and/or performance) or similar degree
  • 3+ years of teaching experience, with experience teaching in group classroom settings and/or co-teaching
  • Legally authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. for the next two-three years.
  • Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills are a plus

Salary Range: $40,000-$45,000
