Position Type: Full-Time, Non-exempt (hourly)
Compensation: $29-$31/hour
Benefits: Healthcare plan, 12 days paid vacation, 12 paid company holidays

Who we are:

Riverside Arts Academy (RAA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Riverside, California, dedicated to providing accessible arts education, with a strong focus on music, to over 500 students each year. Through partnerships with more than a dozen school sites and community centers across the Greater Riverside area, RAA offers free and low-cost instruction to students from 2nd to 12th grade. Our students participate in diverse ensembles, including orchestra, Mariachi, and choir. RAA is proud to be a member of El Sistema USA, reflecting its commitment to ensure high quality music education for every child.

Position Overview:

Riverside Arts Academy (RAA) is searching for a motivated, detail-oriented, and creative Development & Marketing Associate to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in advancing our mission to provide equitable access to high-quality arts education in Riverside. As the Development & Marketing Associate, you will manage our donor database, ensure timely and personalized donor recognition, support grant writing and reporting, and amplify RAA’s fundraising and marketing initiatives. We seek a passionate individual with strong writing, communication, and organizational skills eager to make a significant impact—even if you don’t meet every single qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Donor Management:

Manage and maintain the donor database (Little Green Light or similar), ensuring accuracy and timeliness in donor acknowledgments. Prepare and distribute thank you letters, and implement strategies for meaningful donor recognition.

  • Grant Support:

Assist with all aspects of grant prospecting, writing, and reporting. Collaborate closely with the Executive & Artistic Director to identify new funding opportunities and ensure compliance with grant requirements.

  • Fundraising Activities and Events:

Support and expand RAA’s fundraising efforts, including planning and executing key events such as the annual gala. Help to create and implement innovative fundraising strategies.

  • Marketing & Communications:

Manage and enhance RAA’s social media presence with consistent, engaging, and mission-aligned content. Develop and distribute newsletters, issue press releases, design branded materials, and communicate effectively with external stakeholders to promote RAA’s programs and mission.

  • Other Duties:

Contribute to the overall success of RAA by assisting with various tasks that support our development and marketing efforts.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Passion for equity-based arts education and a strong alignment with RAA’s mission.
  • Strong writing and communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Successfully pass a live scan background check.

Preferred:

  • Experience with a donor management database (e.g., Little Green Light).
  • Background in nonprofit development, particularly in fundraising.
  • Familiarity with basic marketing principles and social media management.
  • Experience with Canva or similar software.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field.
