The Music School of Delaware seeks a versatile El-Sistema-trained violin/viola teacher for a full-time salaried position with benefits.  MELODY department head position is inclusive of instruction, supervision, planning, and administration for/of the Music School’s MELODY program (Music Enriches the Lives of Delaware Youth).  Music School teaching could include violin, viola, musicianship, general music, and/or orchestra instruction in the Music School’s MELODY program and in the school’s general programming. Department Head oversees a program that currently includes 2 sites, as well as 1 full-time and five part-time staff.  Department Head will also be assigned up to 8 teaching hours at one or more of the school’s branches, satellites or outreach locations.  Minimum: Bachelor of Music in education or performance.  Preferred: Master of Music in education or performance.  Teacher must have received training in the El Sistema philosophy and be established in the El Sistema community.  Preferred: 3-5 years of El Sistema teaching experience and leadership.   Suzuki and/or Early Childhood training a plus.
