Sarah Overton

Sarah Overton joined the El Sistema USA team in the summer of 2019. Formerly, she was the Program Director of A Gift For Music – where she led a team of thirteen teaching artists to provide tuition-free string music education to more than 400 underserved students annually in Central Florida. A passionate community collaborator, Ms. Overton has served either as a committee or board member for the Timucua Arts Foundation, the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, and United Arts of Central Florida; aiding in the organizations’ capacity to create lasting social change through the arts. As a performing artist, Sarah was the principal cellist for Classern Quartet, an award-winning string quartet specializing in the unique mixture of pop and classical music. Both Sarah and Classern have been featured performers at Walt Disney World Resort, and Universal Orlando Resort.

Ms. Overton received her Bachelor’s degree in Music with an Outside Field in Business Administration at Stetson University; where she completed international studies in stage management, sound design, and sacred music in Paris, France. Sarah is currently pursuing her M.A. in Performing Arts Administration at New York University.
