Rita McLennon – Fundraising Committee Chair

Rita started a consulting business to help the chief stewards of nonprofit and philanthropic organizations be strategic, confident, productive, and kind in their leadership. Drawing on many years of nonprofit experience, Rita offers consultation and organizing services in the areas of: Leadership Development and Coaching, Nonprofit Governance, Strategic Planning, Event Planning, Organizing an Effective Development Department, Budgeting for Contributed Revenue, Philanthropic Management for Small Family Foundations.

Rita’s experience in the nonprofit community includes her work as Director of Development at Merit School of Music, Chief Operating Officer at the Better Government Association, and Director of Development at the New York Legal Assistance Group.

Rita spent the majority of her career working for legal services for the poor. For fourteen-years, Rita served as the Executive Director of the Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law, a nonprofit organization that promotes social and economic justice through policy development, advocacy, research, and communication.
