Michael, a 17-year-old musician from Round Rock, Texas, began his musical journey at six with piano lessons and later discovered his passion for the violin. Under the mentorship of instructors such as Molly Emerman, William Fedkenheuer of the Miro Quartet, and Dr. Susan Groves, Michael has developed his skills as both a pianist and violinist. He has performed at prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall and the Wiener Musikverein in Vienna, and earned recognition in various music competitions at local, state, and international levels. As a second-year mentor in the Draylen Mason Fellowship Program, Michael collaborates with peers to create original compositions addressing social justice issues and guide new fellows. Through his involvement with Austin Soundwaves, Michael has participated in extensive community outreach, bringing music to underserved communities and contributing to initiatives that inspire meaningful change. In 2024, From the Top Daily Joy featured him for his piano performance, celebrating young musicians with disabilities. This recognition deepened his commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity in the arts. Michael also performs at senior centers and charitable events, using music to connect with others. He aspires to continue blending his passion for music with advocacy, fostering equity and inclusion.
