As part of the LA Phil senior management team, Leni Boorstin advises the Association on issues related to community and government relations. Ms. Boorstin is responsible for Neighborhood Concerts and other community programs including those that opened Walt Disney Concert Hall, celebrated its 5th and 10th anniversaries, and welcomed Gustavo Dudamel to Los Angeles as the LA Phil’s music Director. Ms. Boorstin works with Education Department to develop strategic plans and also supervises the Hollywood Bowl Museum and LA Phil Archives. Ms. Boorstin worked with a coalition of stakeholders to introduce El Sistema-influenced programs to Los Angeles, and helped develop the partnerships that have resulted in the robust Youth Orchestra LA (YOLA) programs in three sites, currently serving over 700 students. Boorstin also advises the Association on issues of compliance with Americans with Disabilities Ac, monitors legislation and public policy issues affecting the arts and represents the Orchestra before government agencies and the arts community.
