Guadalupe is a high school senior from Waukegan, Illinois. She has participated in El Sistema Ravinia since 2015. Since the start of her musical journey, Guadalupe has played the oboe in various musical programs along with participating in El Sistema. Guadalupe first participated in the Waukegan High School Bulldog Marching Band in 2020, and became the percussion captain the year after. She also auditioned for the Midwest Young Artists’ Conservatory in 2021 and got accepted into the Concert Orchestra. In 2022, Guadalupe then got placed into the top orchestra of the program, the Symphony Orchestra. In 2021, Guadalupe applied and auditioned for the Chicago Musical Pathways Initiative, in which she was offered a full scholarship to purchase a new instrument and take weekly private lessons. She also had a scholarship to use for annual summer studies! In 2022, Guadalupe attended the Interlochen Oboe Intensive Week, and in 2023, she attended the Luzerne Music Center 4-Week Senior Session. Guadalupe is currently applying to private secondary institutions in hopes of pursuing a college degree in music performance.
