Job Summary

The People’s Music School is seeking a part-time Program Coordinator beginning immediately for it’s Uptown Academy Program location (931 W. Eastwood Ave., Chicago)

Responsibilities

Provide administrative support to the Program Manager
Provide support and information to parents, faculty, staff, and/or students via phone, text message, email, and in person.
Assist with maintaining student database and instrument inventory
Assist with managing parent volunteer duties, scheduling, and hours
Assist with ordering program related supplies and equipment
Assist with special on/off-site events including concerts, family orientations, fundraisers, and field trips
Assist with day-to-day operations at the program site
Assist monitoring and managing the site’s Facebook Group page
Manage and/or assist with other projects as assigned
Actively participate in staff/faculty meetings

Position Requirements

Fluent in Spanish for oral and written communication.
Highly organized and self-motivated
Experience working with people from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficiency in use of office related programs including Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work collaboratively
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and complete at a high level
Ability to work effectively in a busy school environment
Ability to maintain effective work habits
Manage time efficiently
Maintain a high level of professionalism

Demonstrate a commitment to TPMS core values

Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in music education, performance, or arts administration required

Schedule

Part-time position:  30 hours/week

Must be available when program is running:  3:00-8:00 p.m.

Compensation

$22/hour
