Sistema Winnipeg encourages youth to reach their full potential.

Who You Are

We are seeking Site Administrators that want to be considered as substitutes in the event that our regularly scheduled Site Administrators are unavailable to work. These substitutes would have the opportunity to connect with students, all while providing support to the teaching team during the Sistema day. You will be tasked with ensuring that the focus is always on the students and their well-being, and to provide a safe space at Sistema Winnipeg where everyone is welcome regardless of any part of their background. Supervised by the Education & Sistema Manager, working alongside the school’s Divisional Teachers and other Teaching Artists, you will support the students and staff throughout the Sistema day, helping address needs that arise.

Sistema Winnipeg also continuously strives for inclusivity and requires a diverse workforce. We are actively seeking candidates who are Women, Indigenous, Black, visible minorities and people from the LGBTQ2S+ community, as well as those with disabilities. If you are a part of any of these communities, you are encouraged to self-identify in your application. If you require support during the hiring process, please do not hesitate to let us know.

In the event that there are any opportunities to accommodate and hire Site Administrators to work on a regular basis, those that have applied as Substitute Site Administrators will get priority for the position before any decisions are made to advertise it publicly.

This position is paid at an hourly administration rate of $20 when requested for work, working from 3:00 to 6:30 PM.

To be successful at the position, you must be able to make decisions with the best intentions in mind for the students’ well-beings, as well as be adaptable to any situations. You must also be enthusiastic, flexible, non-judgemental and highly-motivated in a fast-paced environment, while also being patient, communicative and open-minded. We were fortunate to run in-person for most of the Covid-19 pandemic so far during the school year while following safety protocols, but we do require that staff be capable of working remotely from home if and when necessary.

Our Site Administrators bring their experience as administrators in a range of experiences, to their work. While experience with music supports your application, it is not a requirement and any relevant experience working with children, and addressing social needs is highly valued. We are also interested in hearing your experiences working with children and teens, in particular in working with groups of different demographics. Sistema Winnipeg also acknowledges that our team have other opportunities outside our program, and are willing to be flexible when possible.

Sistema Winnipeg also requires successful candidates to provide recent copies of cleared Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry Checks, no older than six months.

How to Apply

Please send your resume and a brief cover letter as a PDF file to Education & Sistema Manager, Jeffrey Acosta at with the subject line being: “Sistema Winnipeg Substitute Site Administrator”.

In your cover letter, please indicate your different experiences, and your current availability throughout the school year. As well, we welcome you to inform us of other relevant aspects of your career.

Applications are being accepted until a suitable amount of substitutes are hired, and while all applications are appreciated, only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
