Preferred Qualifications: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance or Music Education and 3 years of experience; a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education with a current license is preferred; Master’s Degree and Suzuki Training through book 6 is highly desirable. Proficiency in viola is a plus.

Strong candidates will show an accomplished level of musicianship in their musical area, have a strong record of collaboratively working with teaching artists, and have working knowledge and/or training in the Suzuki Method.

Candidates will need to commit to working Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday for their first 3 years of employment.

Duties:

Violin Artist-Faculty:

Provide weekly private lessons for students ages 3+
Host biannual recitals for individual lesson students, either on or off-campus
Instruct group string classes in both in-school and after-school programs
Attend faculty meeting and school events
Maintain studio schedule and attendance records
Timely and regular communication with studio families and staff
String Sprouts Violin Faculty

Provide weekly group lessons for students ages 3 – 10 and their caregivers over the course of a 32-week program.
Teach assigned classes using the String Sprouts curriculum and equipment.
Create a classroom management plan.
Communicate with caregivers or cooperating in-school teachers.
Evaluate student progress each quarter.
Provide written feedback to families each quarter.
Maintain accurate attendance and equipment records.
Participate in program-wide performances each year.
Complete administrative tasks necessary for all assigned classes.
Communicate regularly with program administrators.
Any other duties assigned by the program administration.
Start date: This position is for the 2023-2024 academic year, with an anticipated start date of approximately August 1, 2023. Start date can be flexible, but must start no later than August 9, 2023. Position will remain open until filled.

Salary: $35,380 minimum commensurate with experience. Different rates are given for class teaching, accompanying, performance and specific programs.
