Training Ensembles Student Development Coordinator

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Works closely with the Director of Education, Training Ensembles Operations Coordinator, Training Ensembles Recruitment and Communications Coordinator and other Community & Learning staff to manage the Training Ensembles of the Wu Family Academy
Ensures that all Training Ensemble programs are running successfully (Senza, Lesson Program, Ramp-Up, Chamber Ensembles, Community Ensembles and School-Based Ensembles).
Tracks and manages student progress and growth in all Training Ensemble Programs by monitoring student engagement and development.
Works closely with the Director of Education to create a rubric and evaluation structure to achieve program goals.
Advise and assist students, staff, faculty, and DSO musicians so that each student can progress in growth and development within Training Ensembles.
Actively work towards ensuring that all training ensembles are diverse, accessible, and inclusive.
Oversees Parent group and student leadership in Civic Youth Ensembles,
Works as Manager on Duty for rehearsals and concerts.
Manages audition materials, and criteria, connecting with DSO musicians for support.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Position Qualifications
Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Strong interpersonal skills to work with a wide variety of stakeholders, including musicians, staff, students, families, community members, and leaders in the field.
Able to work Saturdays and other non-traditional working hours.
Ability to operate in a PC network environment and proficiency with all Microsoft Office programs and Google online apps.
Experience working with diverse populations that are and underrepresented in classical music.

Preferred Position Qualifications
Proficiency in Spanish, Arabic, or other language common in metro Detroit.
Professional experience (including internships) in arts administration, music education, or youth development.
