Education and Community Program Coordinator

The Education and Community Program Coordinator works closely with the Executive Director, Assistant Director, Administrative Manager, and all Teaching Fellows. Responsibilities include coordinating BCAS groups classes and in-school and afterschool community-based residencies, close communication with Teaching Fellows, oversight of assessment and evaluation of programs, and coordination of BCAS summer camps.


-Oversee all BCAS community and school partnerships in order to ensure successful partnerships and collaborations with school principals, community partners, community members, students, families, and all other relevant stakeholders.
-Oversee all BCAS Group Classes and work with Teaching Fellows on schedules, materials, and family support.
-Work closely with teaching artists, schedule and run regular check-in meetings with community program and group class Teaching Fellows, manage communications around supply orders, and create and maintain group class and site partnership schedules.
-Conduct pre and post program meetings with each school to monitor progress and identify areas of improvement.
-Responsible for the evaluation of services being provided at all partner sites with both internal and external evaluation teams.
-Maintain knowledge of evidence-based community school models and implement best practices when applicable to individual school environments.
-Maintain proper documentation of all efforts to allow for effective expansion and replication.
-Participate in professional development and capacity-building activities, including but not limited to trainings, meetings, workshops, and conferences.
-Work closely with the Administrative Manager and Administrative Assistant, including but not limited to: review of Teaching Fellow community partner site assignments, partnership agreements and photo release forms (which are all created by the Administrative Assistant) as needed, collaborate on programmatic data collection, student and teacher evaluations, and program calendar.
-Work closely with the Executive Director and Assistant Director on new Teaching Fellow training and any professional development needs.
-Contribute written content for all education & community programs marketing and outreach materials.
-Collaborate with Marketing Department on print pieces, website pages, photographic needs, ticket offers to community, social media; interface with graphic designers to ensure high standard and completion of materials.
-Guide grant writer(s) on program content and grant fulfillment objectives.
-Assist the Executive Director on additional projects and administrative work as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements:

-Bachelor’s Degree, Masters Preferred
-Background in public education, administration, and/or teaching
-Record of building partnerships between public agencies, private organizations, community members, and funders in the non-profit and/or government fields.
-Knowledge of budget processes
-Project management experience
-Experience tracking and reporting data
-Fundraising and grant writing experience
-Strong time management, and organizational skills, including attention to detail and abilities to prioritize tasks and keep multiple tasks moving simultaneously
-Ability to make independent decisions and build consensus as needed
-Outstanding writing and verbal skills
-Passion for promoting social and economic justice for marginalized individuals and communities
-Strong communication skills and “emotional intelligence”
-Willing to give and take constructive criticism
-Adept at active listening
-Familiar with and capable of using inclusive language, terminology, and behaviors
-Second language desirable
