At the end of the academic year, successful participants will be awarded an Abreu Fellows Program Certificate and will be required to contribute to the El Sistema movement in the United States for a period of at least one year with the expectation that Fellow alumni will be actively involved for years to come. They will become members of an ever-expanding network of Abreu Fellows, mentoring other leaders and teachers while developing their own local programs. Although no guarantee can be made that each Fellow will be offered such employment, the Abreu Fellows Program leadership will make every possible effort to find an ideal situation for graduating Fellows. Fellows will also be expected to network for potential employment during the fellowship year. Geographical flexibility in job placement is expected. In some cases, Fellows will be sponsored by individuals or organizations with the intent that they return to their home cities to found or develop El Sistema–inspired programs initiatives.

“The orchestra and choir are much more than artistic studies. They are examples and schools of social life. To sing and to play together, means to intimately coexist”
